My take on the Olympics

The Olympics have come and very sadly, have now gone. While reflecting on the  games and all the glory that goes with it, I felt the need to put together my take on what I enjoyed and disliked most of the Games. Let's start with the good.

THE GOOD:

The Body - Volleyball
Are you kidding me? The bodies on these girls are cray cray. I've only watched close to a minute of one game simply because I can't stand my inherent jealousy. Best all round body goes to the volley ball girls.

The Chest Area - Men's Swimming
My favourite olympic pass-time of coarse, is the male swimming events, not only because we've won 3 medals in the category, but also because it is a absolute pleasure looking at the competitors.

The Spice Girls
Total Spice Girl fan! Back in the 90's early 2000's when they were at the height of their fame, here in the Republic 4 girls in the northern suburbs were singing to their songs, wearing the spice girls spray, shoes, and pretending to be them. Good times.
I adored they're performance, and may I add that they are still looking incredible!

THE BAD:

The Shoulders - Ladies Swimming
This isn't the end of the world, but very little sporting disciplines have this negative effect on the body. The shoulders on the ladies swimmers are incredibly unflattering. Some of those girls look like they can't fit  through a door.

The Mole - Weightlifting
Seriously, look at that thing.

The Drama - Fencing
After the timing delay of the fencing game, I realised how important this is to the participants of the games. You get caught up in so many games and available sports and viewing channels, you kind of loose sight of the fact that these are individuals who has worked incredibly hard, and are competing to be called Olympians.
This poor girl was cheated out of a medal, and her horribly arrogant German opponent did not deserve to win. She refused to leave the piece for over 45min, sitting, waiting on the feedback from the written appeal her  furious coach submitted to the officials. After their decision to award the game to the German, she defeatedly left the piece by escort.

AND:
The Curious Art of Archery
How amazing are the girls from the archery teams. I found this sport pleasantly surprising, and love how the Korean team customised their chest armour plate.
Also, the skill level, the camera shots don't do it justice. They shoot at a target that is about 70m away (i think). The arrow, shoots off their cross bow, high into the air and then comes down to hit the target. Amazing.

London did a amazing job at hosting the Olympics, in fact, they've put on a amazing shot this whole year, kicking it off with a Royal wedding, the Diamond Jubilee and now the Olympics. Well done!

For now, it's back to the familiar faces of the presenters on our trusted sports channels until 2016  when all athletes head to Rio for the Brazil Olympics.
